AllCells® Monocytes
CD14+ monocytes are large agranular myeloid-derived leukocytes with roles in the inflammatory and anti-inflammatory processes of the innate immune response. They can differentiate into macrophages and dendritic cells (DC) responsible for phagocytosis, antigen presentation, and cytokine production.
The M1/M2 subtypes of macrophages are key modulators of cancer tumorigenesis. DC-based anti-tumor vaccines are also being explored for cancer immunotherapies. Monocytes are also used in regenerative medicine applications such as wound healing and tissue repair. Their role in the pathology of autoimmune diseases like lupus are providing insight to develop new treatments.

LeukopaksIsolated Cell
Monocyte cells isolated from Leukopaks are available through positive or negative immunomagnetic bead separation. Positive immunomagnetic bead separation – beads bind to the target cell population from the heterogenous mixture; labeled target cells remain while the non-target cells are removed. Negative immunomagnetic bead separation – beads bind to the non-target cell population to deplete them from the mixture leaving behind the unlabeled cells of interest.
